The line I’ve created is built upon a return to the art of goldsmithing. The humanistic side of jewels is always front and center - underlining why jewelry has historically been, and remains, such an important form of human expression. After earning a degree in fine art at Wesleyan University, I spent decades studying with master goldsmiths - becoming a master and teacher in my own right. Prior to building this collection, as a single mother raising two children, I also obtained an MA in clinical psychology, had a successful career as a psychotherapist, and joined the faculty of the graduate department at Loyola Marymount University.

My work explores the strength of simple forms from a bold, timeless perspective. Each heirloom-quality jewel bears exquisite details, and evokes a blend of sophistication and subtle irreverence meant to be worn and touched, day or night.

Women In Full

None of us succeeds in a vacuum. We all stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. Mentors, teachers, givers of wisdom. I’m lucky enough to have been influenced by many wise women. I think of them as ‘Women In Full.’ Here are a few.

Capturing TimE

“Capturing Time” was a carefully curated exhibition of my work held at the Institute of Contemporary Art LA. A selection of my jewels were presented juxtaposed with examples of the natural rare mineral specimens they showcased. This is an evolving conversation exploring the value we place in precious objects imbued with memory. Explore further here.

THE C.A.N. CHARM

Created for the Children’s Action Network, the C.A.N. Charm is inspired by the historic tradition of creating wreaths to mark holidays and important events. Referencing the wreath form, an unbroken circle, symbolizing infinity, wholeness, and the cycle of the seasons, this C.A.N. Charm features a vivid green tourmaline cabochon weighing 9.15 carats set in 22k yellow gold. We’re proud to offer a custom version of the C.A.N. Charm with the gemstone type and color of your choosing. For each one sold, a percentage of the price will be donated to the Children’s Action Network, an organization dedicated to improving outcomes and finding homes for the hundreds of thousands of American children in foster care.

ethos

We have been closely involved with A Place Called Home, an organization committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment with proven programs in arts, education, and wellness to the young people of South Central Los Angeles. As part of their Mentorship Program we hosted a metalsmithing class for teens and their mentors in which they created an ‘Ethos Ring’ inscribed with a word that defined an aspirational state of being. We are always interested in providing similar growth-related activities to those who might not otherwise be exposed to the art of metalsmithing.

Film

I was flattered to be chosen by Stephanie Martin, an incredibly talented filmmaker, to be the subject of an American Express Merchant Services advertisement. Although the commercial never ran, it was an enlightening experience, and gave me the chance to talk about my process and philosophy.
